Whenever I'm off food hunting, I normally had the boy to accompany me to all my food adventures. But this time at Hylin, the boy and I finally had our group of friends joining us on my foodie adventure! We don't usually do brunches together as a group because well, people do need to work. Except me cause i'm such a lazy bum which also means discovering new food places. So YAYYY to that.
Hylin, a very rustic looking place with plants hanging on brick walls, food the size of my face constantly coming out. And people buzzing in and out of this place. That was how busy Hylin was on a Saturday. As we were a group of 7, fortunately, we only had to wait for 10 minutes for a big table to be vacant.
After scanning through the menu, it's sad to say that there wasn't much that you really hoped for. However, since we were there already we might as well just try something than leaving on an empty stomach.

I opted on the Smoked Bacon & Roasted Field Mushroom. First of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE mushrooms & this looks like the perfect brunch dish for me. Second of all, the other dish had haloumi which I was not a HUGE FAN of and the next dish had something to do with beans which I did not want due to beans overdose the other time I was at Piccolo's. It was a good and simple dish. I can't say it's the best dish but it's still good. It's a simple and nice dish so what could ever go wrong with it?
The boy however, a big lover of food, decided to order the Open Street Tacos. It's made up of Cajun chicken breast on flour tortillas with mango salsa, toasted sesame seeds and fresh coriander. The only thing he could say for his was good but not filling. He's a monster when it comes to food. A BIG FLUFFY MONSTER.
And our friends got the Spicy Chipotle Chicken Burger and the Breakfast Bruschetta. My friend gave me his pineapple slaw and it was not really appetising due to the lack of taste and the sour effect from the pineapple.
